JOB TITLE: Security Officer
LOCATION: London
PAY RATE: £15.16 per hour
THE ROLE:
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors and contractors. This role involves monitoring premises, controlling access, responding to incidents, enforcing security policies, and providing professional customer service while ensuring public safety.
Responsibilities:
- Provide security presence
- Uphold codes of practice and policies in place
- Facilitate good management of the spaces and help visitors to the site
- Assist the public and help anyone in difficulties
- Manage incidents and emergencies
- Facilitate the delivery of a range of events including filming, photo shoots, rallies, demonstrations and cultural events
- Protect the fabric of the site and prevent malicious damage
- Be aware of the obligations under the Health and Safety regulations concerning your own safety, your colleagues and visitors alike, along with any ad-hoc duties as directed by the Manager or the Client
Skills/Experience:
- This role requires security officers of a high calibre who are adaptable, proactive and motivated to deliver the highest standard of service.
- You must be capable of dealing with a variety of situations and be very customer service focused.
- You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, attaining an adept level of verbal and written English.
- You must have good organisational and record-keeping skills, be well-presented at all times.
- You must be physically fit as this is a demanding role on a very busy corporate site.
LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a current SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- First Aid at work certificate is desirable
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
You must be able to provide a check-able 5-year employment history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods in receipt of benefits).
INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS:
Eligibility documents needed at interview: Passport or Full Birth Certificate; Utility Bill showing current address and dated within 3 months; Proof of National Insurance (Payslips cannot be used) such as NI card, P45, P60, benefits or HMRC letter.
