Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through various stages of storage and dispatch. Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including picking, packing, and stock replenishment
- Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
- Managing shipping and receiving processes to ensure accurate documentation and timely dispatch
- Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
- Assisting with stock organisation, storage, and retrieval to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing goods to maintain standards
- Loading and unloading lorries using mechanical aids or manual handling techniques where appropriate
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of materials handling procedures and warehouse management systems is advantageous
- Ability to operate forklift trucks safely; valid certification is desirable but not mandatory as training can be arranged
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse equipment is a plus
- Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate stock management
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the warehouse operations
