Job Summary
We are seeking a full time self employed motivated and dependable, experienced Ground Worker to join our small team. This is currently for a 6 month period with a potential view to permanence after. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting construction projects by performing essential groundwork tasks. Your energy and attention to detail will help ensure that projects progress smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in landscape maintenance and construction. The successful candidate must be have a full UK valid driving license and be confident driving larger vehicles.
The applicant must show documents to prove ok a right to work in the UK. We are unable to accept Visa applicants.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment including excavators and irrigation systems.
- Be able to navigate roads and share driving responsibilities. Driving with due dilligence whilst representing company.
- Support excavation tasks by digging trenches, foundations, or drainage channels following project specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure safety and optimal performance
- Collaborate with team members to prepare sites for construction, including clearing debris and setting up work zones
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
- Be confident managing off site activities such as waste removal from site, following waste regulations.
- Be comfortable travelling as we work across the country with some working away involved. Hours are long but paid a generous day rate for the right candidate. Working away is supplemented to accomodate.
Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or construction environments.
- Confident driver with larger vehicles.
- Experience using an excavator would be desirable.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as shovels, rakes and saws for various groundworks
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- We are looking to take on a self employed person. Pay: £160.00-£180.00 per day
