Catering Assistant
Location: Mountbatten Hospice (Southampton)
Contract: Permanent - 35 hours
Salary: £23,577 per annum - £12.92 per hour

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our hospice team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by helping provide high-quality meals and refreshments to our patients, families, visitors, and staff.

Mountbatten Hospice supports people across Southampton and West Hampshire who are facing death, dying and bereavement. Our catering team provide a professional catering service to a wonderful community and a passionate staffing team. We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the team, providing cover to the team and enabling us to deliver the best service in our on-site café and to our patients on the ward. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has a passion for customer service, and enjoys working as part of a small but active team.
About the Role*
The Catering Assistant will assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of quality, seasonal food in a contemporary style. The successful applicant will join the team in providing clean and hygienic food service and food preparation areas. The Catering Assistant is responsible for all washing up and waste disposal, maintaining high standards of quality, food hygiene and health and safety under the guidance of the Manager, Head Chef and Senior Chefs. On occasions responsible for some aspects of food service to customers, working to achieve budget and provide high standards of customer service.
About You
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to:
· Maintain a professional and friendly image with the patients, their families, your colleagues and with members of the public.
· Work effectively with all colleagues at the hospice to ensure excellent customer service.
· Attend to customer needs in a polite and helpful manner providing assistance where necessary.
· Assist with the service of food as required and accurately handle sales.
· Have experience preparing and serving food to the highest standard and in a timely fashion
· Have equipment to ensure the highest hygiene standards.
