ABOUT OFF THE BEATEN PISTE
Off the Beaten Piste kicked off in Edinburgh in 2025, dreamt up by two skiers who were fed up with lift queues and cookie-cutter resorts. So we built the ski holiday we actually wanted: hidden alpine gems, proper mountain culture, and not a queue in sight.
Every trip we plan is built from scratch around the client. No packages, no copy-paste itineraries. Just skiing done properly.
This is a proper get-stuck-in role at a young company that's still finding its shape. You'll work side by side with the founders across operations, client experience, marketing and business development, wearing whatever hat the week needs. If you like variety, enjoy building things from scratch, and genuinely love travel and the mountains, this could be your kind of thing.
In practice, you'll have real influence over how this business grows.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Client Experience
- Being the first friendly reply when a new client gets in touch.
- Putting together bespoke ski trips for each client — transfers, accommodation, ski school, lift passes, local tips, the lot.
- Delivering the kind of service that turns first-timers into regulars.
Operations & Strategy
- Getting our CRM properly set up so client info, enquiries and bookings are organised and easy to act on.
- Working closely with the founders on where OTBP goes next.
Marketing & Content
- Running our Instagram, with content that actually captures what these resorts feel like.
- Keeping the website fresh and on-brand.
- Helping build out our newsletter and wider marketing.
Partnerships
- Tracking down good local partners; operators, places to stay, ski schools, hire shops, other travel businesses.
- Building relationships that make our resort offering stronger.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We care more about attitude than a perfect CV. That said, here's what'll help:
- Ideally: some travel industry experience — ski or adventure travel is a bonus, not a must.
- A customer service background — you know how to make someone feel looked after.
- Comfortable with social media and content — you know what good looks like.
- Organised and self-directed — you can run your own time without someone checking in.
- Location: Edinburgh-based is preferred so we can work together in person, but we'll consider strong remote candidates.
- An actual love of skiing and the mountains.
