Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Setter Operator to join our clients manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press machinery to produce high-quality sheet metal components. Duties
- Set up and calibrate press machines according to specifications and production requirements
- Operate press equipment safely and efficiently during manufacturing processes
- Monitor machine operation, adjusting settings as necessary to maintain quality standards
- Conduct routine inspections of tools, tooling, and equipment to identify wear or faults
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as grinding, welding, or fabrication to ensure optimal machine performance
- Assist with assembly of components using hand tools and sheet metal working techniques
- Maintain accurate records of production output and machine maintenance activities
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during operation
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and resolve technical issues promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, grinding, welding, or mechanical work within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of sheet metal processes and tooling operations
- Proficiency with hand tools and basic assembly techniques
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to press machinery setup and maintenance
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for measurements and adjustments
- Familiarity with quality control standards and safety procedures in a manufacturing setting
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
