Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Tipper Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a heavy goods vehicle equipped with a tipping mechanism, delivering materials efficiently across various locations around the UK. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will ensure smooth operations, timely deliveries, and excellent service for our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment where your driving skills and attention to detail make a real impact. Nights out are a requirement 3-4 per week.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle with a tipper mechanism and onboard weigher, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with legal standards
- Plan delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely collection and drop-off of materials
- Load and unload cargo with precision, following proper handling procedures to prevent damage or accidents
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, delivery notes, and inspection reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered during routes
- Follow all health and safety protocols to promote a safe working environment for yourself and others
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driving professional, specifically with flatbed or tipper vehicles
- Good knowledge of UK road network.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for heavy goods vehicles
- Delivery driver experience with an emphasis on timely and efficient service delivery
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and the ability to handle large vehicles confidently
- Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or route requirements while maintaining high safety standards
