About the engagement
Elizabeth Samuels Drama School is an established children's performing arts school seeking a reliable, proactive self-employed administration and operations support provider.
This is a genuine freelance contract for services, not a PAYE employment position. The successful provider should already operate an independent business and be free to support other clients.
Working arrangement
- Approximately 12 hours of support per week
- £18–£20 per hour, invoiced by the provider
- Mainly remote, with approximately one mutually agreed on-site day each week in Twickenham
- Remaining working hours and location managed flexibly by the provider
- No exclusivity
- Initial paid four-week trial, with the intention of an ongoing engagement
- Preferred start within the next two weeks
Scope of support
- Manage parent and customer enquiries professionally and promptly
- Monitor and organise shared inboxes
- Process bookings and maintain accurate customer records
- Follow up outstanding information, payments and administrative actions
- Support termly administration, schedules and important dates
- Maintain documents, trackers and operating procedures
- Help improve everyday administrative processes
- Provide dependable operational support during busy periods
- Use ClassForKids or similar booking and customer-management systems
About the provider
We are looking for an established self-employed provider who:
- Is based within easy travelling distance of Twickenham
- Is organised, dependable and comfortable working independently
- Communicates warmly and professionally with parents and customers
- Has excellent written English and close attention to detail
- Is confident using shared inboxes, cloud documents and online booking systems
- Is comfortable handling confidential personal and family information
- Can identify problems, propose practical solutions and follow actions through
- Can begin within the next two weeks
Experience supporting a dance school, performing arts school, education business or children's activity provider would be helpful but is not essential. Experience with ClassForKids or a similar booking platform would also be useful.
Business requirements
The successful provider will be expected to:
- Provide their own service agreement
- Hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- Maintain suitable confidentiality and data-protection arrangements
- Supply their own equipment for remote work
- Take responsibility for their own tax and National Insurance
- Correct errors in their work without an additional charge
- Have appropriate continuity or substitution arrangements, subject to safeguarding, confidentiality and data-security requirements
- Meet any safeguarding or DBS requirements appropriate to their access and duties
