Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and reliable Delivery Driver / Trade Counter Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role combines the excitement of delivering goods directly to customers with providing excellent service at our trade counter. You will be the face of our company on the road and in-store, ensuring timely deliveries, assisting customers with their orders, and maintaining a smooth operation. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your driving skills while gaining valuable experience in warehouse operations and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to various locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Assist customers at the trade counter by providing product information, processing sales, and handling inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Load and unload goods using proper lifting techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and update inventory records as required
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety standards are met
- Support warehouse activities such as stock replenishment, order picking, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role, demonstrating safe driving practices
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving or operating larger vehicles is highly desirable
- Prior warehouse experience is a plus, especially involving heavy lifting or physical tasks
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and team members effectively
- Ability to handle heavy loads safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and inventory management
