Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting the dental team, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily clinical activities. Duties
- Provide comprehensive patient care before, during, and after dental procedures, ensuring comfort and safety at all times
- Assist dentists during various treatments, including preparing instruments and materials
- Manage patient records accurately using IT systems and ensure confidentiality in line with data protection regulations
- Oversee the organisation of clinical supplies and maintain stock levels efficiently
- Supervise junior staff and support training initiatives within the practice
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and health & safety standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and post-treatment care instructions clearly
- Support the reception team with administrative tasks as required, including appointment scheduling and patient correspondence
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Nurse with a recognised qualification in dental nursing (e.g., NEBDN or equivalent)
- Dentally experience
- Demonstrable patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards patients of all ages
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in IT systems relevant to dental practice management and record keeping
- Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating leadership qualities as a Lead Nurse
- Good understanding of current health & safety standards, infection control procedures, and clinical protocols
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities within the practice environment

Pay: £12.21-£22.44 per hour
