Krystal Technology UK Ltd is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering projects across our manufacturing operation. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a strong mechanical background and project management experience to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and international colleagues, you will coordinate multiple engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. The role combines practical engineering knowledge with structured project management and offers exposure to bespoke manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
- Deliver engineering projects from concept through to installation, commissioning and handover.
- Develop practical engineering solutions to improve manufacturing processes, equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Produce, review and modify mechanical designs and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
- Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor supporting installations, collaborating with operations, troubleshooting engineering issues and overseeing project activities.
- Specify, source and implement new plant, machinery and engineering equipment.
- Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to minimise disruption during project implementation.
- Coordinate contractors and ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard.
- Assist with mechanical assembly, equipment trials, testing and commissioning where required.
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend engineering improvements.
- Prepare technical specifications, risk assessments and engineering documentation.
- Manage project costs, schedules and technical deliverables.
- Support continuous improvement activities using practical engineering knowledge.
- Liaise with international colleagues, suppliers and contractors on technical projects, with occasional overseas travel as required.
Requirements
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical or a related Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in a hands-on Project Engineering role within manufacturing, delivering engineering or capital projects.
- Strong mechanical engineering knowledge with a good understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficient in SolidWorks.
- Excellent project planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A recognised Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, PMP or equivalent) would be advantageous.
- Experience within the oil and gas, process manufacturing or industrial engineering sectors.
- Experience working with international teams or multinational organisations.
- Knowledge of pressure systems, industrial gases, high-temperature manufacturing processes and Lean/Continuous Improvement principles.
Pay: £38,000.00 per year
