Role Purpose:
Responsible for the support of the Operations Duty Manager in the Ops department related to all Cargo operations, ensuring the operation is kept up to date and is always compliant in accordance with the Regulations to ensure the daily support for the Company’s strategy and on time performance is maintained.
To learn the role and undertake training as a Duty Manager to be competent enough to fulfil the Duty Manager role as and when required.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities of the role:
- Support the Operations Duty Manager to deliver the oversight and control of daily operations requirements related to Cargo Operations, messaging and compliance.
- Supporting on-time performance and operational delivery
- Supporting customer, crew and dispatch liaison for flight scheduling and flight related issues when required
- Work closely with third party providers to support delivery of the processes, procedures and dispatching of aircraft to expected One Air and client standards
- Review flight confirmations, flight briefs and final briefing packages
- Review all operational set ups to ensure they comply with national authority regulations
- Support the monitoring of Flight Dispatch tasks carried out by third party providers as per the agreed requirements and national authority requirements and that they are delivered in line with the service level agreement
- Support the compliance monitoring in all areas of dispatch delivered by the third-party provider
- Ensure a pro-active and timely response to feedback any communication, set-up or planning discrepancies with third-party providers, crew and clients
- Support the monitoring of all flight set ups to make sure they are compliant with all flight time limitations as set out in OMA chapter 7 for each AOC
- Deliver a safety culture and raise safety issues where and when required by the official channels
- Fulfil any required task of the One Air AOCs in relation to Ground Operations
- Ensure correct input of operational and flight related data
- Monitor the scheduling of flights and flight following
- Train to cover pre-ops tasks and support and cover as required.
- Assisting in travel and transport bookings and set-up requirements where required
- Processing and reviewing of post flight paperwork where applicable
- Ensuring the appropriate standards of safety and security are achieved in line with corporate requirements, government legislation and international best practice
- Excellent communications ensuring all communication channels are effective both with all external and internal stakeholders connected to cargo operations, including customer service teams, to ensure effective operational delivery
- Support the processes to target and reduce cargo handling issues, and their consequences
- Responsible for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of company operations, documentation, regulating authority requirements, relevant systems and procedures
- Be part of a Duty Manager training program to progress into a full time Duty Manager.
Key skills, Knowledge & Experience required:
- Have had at least three years relevant work experience
- Must have a sound knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of the LEON flight software system
- Experience in using the PPS flight planning system
- Knowledge of applicable regulations with respect to dispatch procedures, ground operations, customs, dangerous goods and security
- A comprehensive knowledge of IATA and IOSA standards
- Previous experience with and a good knowledge of and familiarity with aviation management systems
- Has a proven ability to plan and organise often fast moving and ever-changing operational needs on a daily basis
- Excellent interpersonal and all-round communication skills with the ability to problem solve under pressure whilst ensuring the operation is fully supported
- Excellent team and customer focus skills
- Keen to learn and an excellent training ethic
Any additional relevant information:
The post holder will be required to work Monday to Friday during initial training moving to a 4/4 shift pattern which will include some nights. You will need to be flexible with working hours. May be required to occasionally work overseas.
