£26,000 basic salary plus performance bonuses | Full-time | Permanent | Office-based
About the role
Some of the best salespeople never planned to work in sales.
They came from customer service, hospitality, retail, recruitment or events, and already knew how to listen, build rapport and help people make decisions.
If that sounds like you, this role is about turning those skills into a proper commercial career, with the training and support to get you there.
You don't need previous sales experience or a business degree. You'll learn alongside an experienced Sales Manager, on a guaranteed salary, in a professional office.
To be clear from the start: this is not commission-only, door-to-door or field sales.
What you'll get
- A guaranteed basic salary of £26,000, plus performance bonuses once you're through initial training
- Full sales and communication training, with one-to-one coaching from your Sales Manager
- Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm, no weekend rota
- 28 days' annual leave including bank holidays, plus a workplace pension
- A clear path into Sales Executive, Account Management and Team Leadership roles, with regular performance and salary reviews
- A city centre office with excellent transport links
The role
You'll learn how a professional sales conversation works from start to finish:
Understanding what a customer needs, presenting the right solution, handling questions and objections, following up, and building relationships that last.
You'll start by working closely with your Sales Manager, listening to live conversations and seeing how it's done.
As your confidence grows, you'll begin managing your own customers and opportunities.
Day to day, that means:
- Speaking with prospective and existing customers by phone, email and video call
- Understanding their requirements
- Explaining products clearly
- Keeping your records accurate
- Working towards realistic individual and team targets
No high-pressure tactics, just good conversations done well.
Who we're looking for
Your attitude matters far more than your job title.
We'd love to hear from people with backgrounds in customer service, retail, hospitality, call centres, events, recruitment, reception or account support.
Experience in sales itself is genuinely not required.
What does matter is that:
- You enjoy talking to people and building relationships
- You listen well and explain things clearly
- You respond positively to coaching
- You're organised enough to stay on top of follow-ups
- You'll be motivated by hitting goals without needing to be the loudest person in the room
Where it leads
Your first months are about building strong communication and customer skills.
Once you can run conversations independently and hit the standard consistently, you'll be considered for progression to Sales Executive, and from there into managing larger accounts, mentoring new trainees, or leading a team.
Progression here is based on how you perform and develop, not how long you've been sitting in the chair.
We're looking to appoint soon, so we welcome applications from people who can start immediately as well as those working a notice period.
Apply with your current CV and a couple of lines on why a career in sales appeals to you.
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
