Forest School Practitioner – Join Our Inspiring Outdoor Team!
Are you passionate about outdoor learning, child-led exploration, and the magic of the natural world? We have a truly special opportunity for a full or part-time Forest School Practitioner to join our wonderful, well-established team.
We’re a small, family-run day nursery and forest school nestled in the idyllic village of Bulwick, just a short drive from Corby, Stamford and Oundle. Our setting is truly unique, with the natural environment at the heart of everything we do.
Why Join Us?
A Unique Outdoor-Focused Setting
Our forest school sessions run primarily in the mornings, offering flexibility and the opportunity to join us part-time or help us grow and expand our provision. We believe children thrive when they’re immersed in nature, building confidence, resilience, and self-esteem through hands-on experiences.
Work-Life Balance That Actually Means Something
- Open Monday–Thursday all day
- Finish at 1pm every Friday (yes — every staff member gets a half-day!)
- A long Christmas break
- One-week shutdown in May
We genuinely value balance, rest, and family time.
A Supportive, Close-Knit Community
As a small family-run nursery, we pride ourselves on our warm, community feel. Every team member is valued. Every voice matters.
Child-Led, In-the-Moment Learning
We follow a planning-in-the-moment approach and prioritise outdoor, practical learning over classroom-based structure. We take children beyond four walls and believe real, hands-on experiences are the foundation of outstanding early years education.
The Role
We would love to welcome a qualified Forest School Leader but also happy to invest in the right person and support them through Forest School training if they already have a level 3 early years qualification.
You’ll:
- Work collaboratively with our passionate team
- Help maintain and develop our outstanding forest school provision
- Foster confidence, independence and curiosity in every child
If you already hold a Forest School qualification, you’ll receive a salary supplement in recognition of your expertise
Staff Wellbeing
We prioritise staff wellbeing and make sure our team feels supported, energised, and appreciated every day through a range of thoughtful benefits, including:
- Free hot drinks and nutritious lunchtime meals to keep you fuelled throughout the day
- A regularly refreshed wellbeing box stocked with snacks and self-care essentials such as face masks, deodorant, oat bars, chocolates, and crisps
- A staff wellbeing fund (supported by optional parent contributions) that helps provide team treats like pizza parties and vouchers for days out with loved ones
- An annual wellbeing day out, just for you, with options ranging from relaxing spa experiences to fun activities like bowling or laser tag
- Additional wellbeing days awarded for each year of service (up to five extra days), which can be used for holidays, sick days, or mental health breaks
- Ongoing, unlimited wellbeing support from senior staff, offering a listening ear and practical help whenever you need it—sometimes a chat, a drink, and a biscuit can make all the difference
