Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Self Employed Pub Operator to manage and oversee the daily operations of a private pub. This role offers the opportunity to lead a hospitality establishment, ensuring excellent guest experiences while maintaining efficient business practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment, supervising staff, and implementing effective operational strategies. This position is ideal for an entrepreneurial individual with a passion for hospitality and proven leadership skills.
Duties
- Manage all aspects of pub operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, and supervision to ensure high standards of guest service
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and licensing laws
- Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory efficiently
- Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to promote customer satisfaction
- Organise events or promotions to enhance the pub’s profile within the community
- Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control measures
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages teamwork and leadership development
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within hospitality or similar service industries
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Experience in hotel or hospitality management is highly desirable
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
- Knowledge of human resources practices related to staff management and development
- Previous experience in hospitality or pub management is essential
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Personal license
