Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated BMS Maintenance and Commissioning Engineer to join our team . The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure optimal performance and efficiency across our facilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, as well as experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics. The position is self employed and requires a proactive approach to maintenance and customer service. We are looking for a person with experience in Johnson Controls, Trend, Tridium, Schneider etc
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure reliable operation.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical, mechanical, and control systems within the BMS infrastructure.
- Read, interpret, and update schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to facilitate accurate repairs and modifications.
- Programme, troubleshoot, and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) utilised within the BMS network.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver excellent customer service by providing timely solutions and support.
- Assist in the installation of new BMS hardware or software upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications for compliance and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance of Building Management Systems or similar control systems.
- Strong electrical knowledge with hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Proficiency in reading technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to HVAC systems or building automation equipment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for system design or modifications is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
- Relevant qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering are preferred but not essential.

Pay: £30,816.23-£51,033.32 per year
