Baked Bird started life in 2019 as a street food stall serving up our signature baked chicken. Since then, we've grown naturally into a well-known brand, catering at some of the biggest events across the UK and Europe.
Built by three London entrepreneurs, we're all about amazing food, great people and doing things the right way. Sustainability matters to us, but so does creating unforgettable food experiences wherever we go.
We're a close-knit, family-style team that genuinely enjoys working together, and we're proud of the food we serve and the service we deliver.
The Role
We're looking for an amazing General Manager to take the lead at our busy NEC Birmingham operation.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be leading the team, making sure every service runs smoothly and helping deliver the great food and customer experience we're known for.
You'll work closely with the founders and our operations team, taking ownership of the day-to-day running of the site and helping us continue to grow.
We're definitely not corporate. We move quickly, back good ideas and trust our people to get the job done. If you like taking ownership, leading from the front and being part of a growing business, you'll fit right in.

- Is organised, proactive and happy solving problems as they come up.
- Is comfortable using hospitality systems and technology.
- Has great communication skills and can build strong relationships with the founders, suppliers, NEC management and the wider team.
- Has events or multi-site experience (a bonus, but not essential).
- Has a genuine passion for hospitality and creating a brilliant place to work.
What you'll be doing
- Running the day-to-day operation at the NEC.
- Leading, coaching and supporting the team while creating a positive, energetic working environment.
- Planning rotas and making sure we're fully staffed for busy events and trading periods.
- Delivering consistently great food, service and presentation.
- Managing stock, ordering, deliveries and keeping wastage under control.
- Making sure the site is fully set up and ready for every service.
- Keeping an eye on sales, labour and costs to help maximise profitability.
- Making sure food hygiene, health & safety and company standards are always met.
- Managing opening and closing procedures, payment handling and daily reporting.
- Training new team members and helping everyone continue to develop.

- Strong spoken and written English.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and event days.
- A reliable way to travel to the NEC.
- A positive attitude, plenty of energy and confidence leading a team.
- A hands-on approach — you're happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in during busy services.
What you'll get
- 28 days' holiday (pro rata).
- Pension scheme.
- Your birthday off.
- Friends & Family discount.
- Performance-based bonus.
- A fun, non-corporate working environment.
- The chance to work directly with the founders and genuinely influence the future of the business.
