PART-TIME HGV DRIVER – AS AND WHEN REQUIRED
Overview
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team on a part-time, on-call basis. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of vehicle operation, safety regulations, and delivery procedures. Experience with warehouse operations and basic mechanical knowledge is a plus. A C1 license And Tacho card are required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Operate various vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries, to transport goods safely and efficiently.
- Ensure timely delivery of products to designated locations while following scheduled routes.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules or potential issues.
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage and fuel logs.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods at the warehouse and delivery sites.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a van or delivery driver, with knowledge of commercial driving practices.
- C1 and Tacho license is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes is advantageous.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate flatbed lorries when required.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage delivery schedules and paperwork efficiently.
