Electrical Maintenance Technician (Days Only Position)
We're looking for experienced and motivated Electrical Maintenance Technicians to join our Facilities & Maintenance team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Middlesbrough. Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of plant, machinery and equipment used in the manufacture of large-scale offshore wind monopiles.

Days Position: Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 4:00pm, Friday 7:00am to 1:00pm

As a Electrical Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of fixed and mobile plant, production equipment and factory infrastructure. You'll support fault finding, equipment reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency across the facility.
You'll work closely with operations teams, contractors and fellow maintenance personnel to deliver safe, effective and compliant maintenance solutions while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities

Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, factory services and capital assets.

Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on a wide range of production and facility equipment.

Carry out electrical testing and fault finding on motors, drives, control panels, circuits and associated systems.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings and engineering documentation.

Support installation, commissioning and modification of equipment and production systems.

Complete maintenance activities in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance schedules.

Assist with continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing equipment reliability and uptime.

Liaise with external contractors and support maintenance projects as required.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and update maintenance management systems.

Monitor spare parts usage and report inventory requirements.

Identify and report safety concerns, equipment defects and reliability issues.

Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll be a time-served Electrical Technician with a recognised electrical apprenticeship and experience working within a manufacturing, heavy engineering or industrial environment.
You'll have strong fault-finding abilities, a proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to safe working practices. You'll be comfortable working independently or as part of a wider maintenance team and will be motivated by solving problems and maintaining critical production equipment
Essential Requirements

Completed a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship.

Proven electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, heavy engineering or industrial environment.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on electrical systems and equipment.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.

Knowledge of electrical testing and inspection procedures.

Understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance principles.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within an industrial environment.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and organisational skills.
Desirable Requirements
-
PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience.

Knowledge of hydraulic systems, valves and actuators.

Experience maintaining welding equipment, including MIG and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) machines.

Experience working within offshore wind, energy, steel fabrication or heavy engineering sectors.

Continuous Improvement or Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) experience

MEWP, IPAF or other relevant industrial certifications.
