Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday Dayshift (guaranteed 50 hour week)

What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our Liverpool operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers between our depot and local port facilities, ensuring operational requirements are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
The Person:
The successful candidate will have experience operating Class 1 vehicles and be confident manoeuvring trailers in busy yard and port environments. They will be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

The Role:
The role will involve:

Shunting trailers between the depots and local port terminals.
-
Positioning trailers for loading, unloading, and onward transport.

Shunting tank trailers to and from tank wash facilities as required.

Conducting daily vehicle and trailer safety checks.

Ensuring all movements are completed safely and in accordance with site and port procedures.

Complying with all relevant road transport legislation and company policies.

Working closely with traffic planners, port personnel, and operational teams to maintain efficient trailer flow.

Supervising and assisting with the washing and drying of tank trailers to ensure cleanliness standards are met.

Applying and checking tank seals following cleaning and operational requirements.

Ensuring wash certificates are correctly completed, secured with the relevant tank, and available for inspection when required.
Full induction and ongoing training will be provided.
Rate of Pay:
Basic rate of pay £15.76
Essential criteria:
A full UK C+E licence.
Digital tachograph card and driver's CPC qualification card.
Able to maintain a good standard of driving.
Clean license preferable but up to a maximum 6 points is acceptable.
Good knowledge of driver’s hours and WTD regulations.
