We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team for working as a kitchen porter/bakehouse assistant. This role is permanent, therefore we cannot accept just seasonal work. Experience working in a kitchen/bakery environment is required and candidates must be at least 16 years old. Candidates must be willing to work shorter and longer shifts depending on the requirements. Weekend shifts could be 6-8 hours, on a rota basis. Shifts are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and weekend days on a rota basis. However, candidates who are flexible with days would be beneficial. Part time or full time roles available.
We are a family run farm shop based on the side of the A96 between Blackburn and Kintore, AB51 0XD. Candidates must be willing to learn and work as part of a team. Wage is dependent on experience and performance, there is room for progression to other bakery/kitchen levels also therefore a great opportunity for the right candidate.Please in your application include all relevant experience and reference details. Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients for baking and cooking processes.
- Support bakers by preparing ingredients and ensuring all baking supplies are stocked and ready for use.
- Ensure proper storage of food items in line with safety regulations to prevent spoilage and contamination.
- Help with waste disposal, recycling, and maintaining a tidy work environment throughout shifts.
- Follow health & safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working space for everyone.
Experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced setting that demands efficiency and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of hygiene standards and safety regulations related to food handling.
- Hospitality experience is advantageous, demonstrating excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items safely, and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if required.
Pay: £12,000.00-£26,520.00 per year
