Responsibilities
- Welcome customers warmly and identify their needs through active listening and engaging conversation
- Provide detailed product information, demonstrating features and benefits to encourage purchases
- Assist customers with selecting merchandise that suits their preferences and requirements
- Maintain organised showroom displays to attract attention and promote featured products
- Upsell additional items or accessories to maximise sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Handle transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale system, including processing payments and issuing receipts
- Manage phone inquiries professionally, offering product information and directing calls appropriately
- Keep the sales floor tidy, and ensure merchandise is well-presented at all times
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect confidently with customers and team members
- Full UK driving license, as travel between Dinnington and Retford stores may be required to cover holidays.
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing displays that drive sales
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Excellent time management to prioritise tasks during busy periods efficiently
- Phone etiquette skills for professional customer interactions over the phone
- Upselling techniques combined with organisational skills to maximise sales while maintaining a tidy store environment
