Job Introduction

As a Ward Assistant with Sodexo at Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital, you’ll play an important role in delivering delicious meals and a positive experience to patients, staff, and visitors. What You’ll Do:

Prepare and serve patient meals safely, accurately, and on time.

Assemble meal trays, including special diets, ensuring each patient receives the correct meal.

Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and infection prevention across kitchens and ward areas.

Carry out food temperature checks, stock rotation, and complete required quality and safety records.

Wash crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment using dishwashing equipment and keep work areas clean and organised.

Transport food trolleys safely and provide general support across the catering department as needed.

Follow all food safety, health and safety, and company policies while delivering excellent service to patients and colleagues.
What You Bring:

Good timekeeping, reliability, and a commitment to regular attendance.

The ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a busy environment.

Good communication and listening skills, with a patient-focused approach.

An understanding of the importance of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness (training will be provided).
