As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of the commercial and contractual performance across a portfolio of projects. Working closely with project managers, procurement, and supply chain partners, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring financial accuracy, contract compliance, and value-driven decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
This is not just about managing costs, it’s about challenging them, understanding them, and improving them.
You’ll be involved from pre-award stages (PQQ/ITT) through to delivery, ensuring the right commercial strategies are in place to deliver successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Provide commercial leadership and support across multiple projects

Manage contractual relationships with suppliers, ensuring full compliance with NEC frameworks

Lead on cost forecasting, financial reporting, and spend control

Scrutinise supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with Schedule of Cost Components (NEC)
-
Challenge costs, assumptions, and methodologies to drive value and efficiency

Support pre-award activities, including tender evaluation and contract strategy
-
Collaborate with procurement and project teams during PQQ and ITT stages
-
Maintain accurate and robust commercial records and reporting
-
Support risk management and contribute to project risk registers

Provide guidance to junior QSs where required
