Assistant Chef – Weybrook Park Golf Club
Location: Weybrook Park Golf Club, Rooksdown Lane, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG24 9NT
Reports to: Head Chef
Contract: Permanent, 30 hours per week
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications
About the Role
Weybrook Park Golf Club is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our kitchen team. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help prepare and deliver high-quality food for our daily menu, weekly specials, clubhouse service and pre-booked events.
The role will primarily involve daytime shifts, with occasional evening shifts required to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in maintaining excellent standards of food quality, presentation and service.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality fresh food for daily service, weekly specials and events.
- Assist with the delivery of pre-booked dinners, functions and other club events.
- Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic working environment in line with food safety standards.
- Ensure crockery, cutlery, dishwasher and sink areas are kept clean, sanitised and ready for service.
- Support stock control, ordering, procurement and cost control procedures where required.
- Follow all relevant procedures for food preparation, food handling, personal hygiene, sanitation and health and safety.
- Complete required training and keep personal training records up to date.
Skills and Experience
- Previous catering or kitchen experience.
- A positive, hard-working and flexible approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to preparing dishes to a high standard.
- Experience supporting daily menus, weekly specials and event catering.
- Knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, food handling, sanitation and safety procedures.
- An understanding of stock control, procurement and cost control would be advantageous.
