Mechanical Fitter with CPCS Telehandler – Walpole
Job description:
Active (Pathways) Solutions is looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters with CPCS Telehandler and Mechanical Fitters with Lift Supervisor qualifications to work on a project in Walpole.
Candidates must be experienced Mechanical Fitters as this is primarily a fitting role, with the additional tickets required to support lifting and telehandler operations.
Monday - Friday, 35-45 hours per week.
Role: Mechanical Fitter with CPCS Telehandler / Mechanical Fitter with Lift Supervisor
Location: Walpole
Start Date: 06/09/2026
Duration: Until November 2026
Pay rate: £350 per day for travelling workers
Payment: LTD or CIS
Must hold the relevant National Grid (NG) authorisations and have the appropriate tickets and experience for the role.
Duties and responsibilities of the role
- Carrying out mechanical fitting works on an electrical infrastructure project
- Installing, assembling and fitting mechanical equipment and components
- Working from drawings, specifications and site instructions
- Supporting lifting operations and the movement of equipment as required
- Operating telehandler equipment where required and within the scope of CPCS certification
- Supervising lifting operations where required and within the scope of Lift Supervisor certification
- Working closely with site management, engineers and other trades
- Ensuring all mechanical installation works are completed safely and to the required standard
- Following all relevant site, health and safety and National Grid procedures
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Carrying out any other mechanical fitting duties required on site
Skills and attributes (desirable)
We are looking for experienced, reliable and safety-focused Mechanical Fitters who have the additional qualifications required for the role.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter
- National Grid (NG) Authorisations – essential
- CPCS Telehandler qualification – for Telehandler role
- Lift Supervisor qualification – for Lift Supervisor role
- Previous experience working on electrical infrastructure or substation projects
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Good understanding of site health and safety procedures
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to work effectively as part of a site team
About you
You must be a Mechanical Fitter with relevant experience. Candidates who only hold the additional tickets but do not have fitting experience will not be considered.
You must hold the relevant NG authorisations and either a CPCS Telehandler ticket or Lift Supervisor qualification, depending on the position.
Candidates must be available to start on 06/09/2026 and be able to provide relevant references.
£350 per day is available for travelling workers.
