Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Overtime: Available at time and a half

Waveney’s is a market-leading engineering company based in South Norfolk, with over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality engineering solutions across the commercial, industrial, agricultural and utilities sectors.
Operating from our offices and manufacturing facility, we have specialist Electrical, Mechanical, Fabrication and Technical Design departments. We manufacture and install bespoke metalwork, including pipework, tanks, platforms and structural steelwork.
We work closely with Anglian Water and undertake projects across both potable and wastewater sites. We also have established relationships with many Tier 1 main contractors, delivering projects ranging from £50,000 to £1.5 million.
Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our expanding team.
The Role
As Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and carrying out electrical installation works across a range of projects. This will include the installation of various types of cabling and containment with testing to be carried out.
The role will involve working on active water and wastewater treatment sites, so a strong understanding of site safety, quality and working procedures is essential.
When site work is not required, you will be based at our assembly and manufacturing facility in South Norfolk.
Please note: regular overnight stays away from home are an essential part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
· To read and interpret electrical drawings.
· To supervise the electrical installations of projects.
· To liaise effectively with the project manager engineers, clients and other trades on site.
· Lead and Supervise site teams with varying levels of experience and ability. Including the mentorship of the electrical apprentices
· Carry out necessary checks and quality assurance of products as per specifications.
· Ensuring work areas are maintained in a clean, safe and organised condition.
· Follow all company, client and site-specific Health & Safety procedures.
· Ensure tools, plant and equipment are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
· Identify and resolve problems using your own initiative.
· Support other areas of the business when required, within your skills and experience.
· Travel to sites throughout the UK as required.
· When not required to work on site you will be expected to work at our assembly location in South Norfolk.
· Overnight stays are pre-requisites of this role.
· Assist with any other task as required in line with business needs and as required within your skill set and experience.
· The ideal candidates will have pervious experience of working within the water sector, though other industrial backgrounds may be considered.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Supervisor or similar.
- Experience as a Time Served Electrician with a relevant Apprenticeship standard or Degree level qualification
- Strong industrial and commercial electrical installation experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety and site procedures.
- Approved Electrical ECS Card or Similar CSCS Affiliated Scheme
- 18th Edition Training
- Site Supervisor Safety Training (SSSTS/SMSTS)
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
- A proactive approach to problem solving.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- A positive "can-do" attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
- Flexibility to work across different sites and locations as required.
Previous experience within the water and wastewater industry would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other industrial engineering backgrounds will also be considered.
Desirable skills/Qualifications
The following qualifications and experience would be advantageous:
· EUSR (blue clean water card)
· Anglian Water safety passport
· Confined Space training.
· PASMA
· IPAF.
· First aid at work
· Safety Critical Medical
