Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and standards
- Oversee specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring efficient operation and quality control
- Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items, contributing creative ideas
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your designated work area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor stock levels and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety standards at all times
- Serve dishes to customers when required, maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, meal preparation, and food safety regulations
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant training is advantageous
