About the role
As a Trainee Therapeutic Support Worker, you'll work alongside experienced colleagues while completing a structured induction and training programme. You'll develop the skills and confidence to support children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children with their daily routines and personal development. Building positive, trusting relationships through a therapeutic approach. Creating a safe, nurturing and structured home environment. Helping children attend education, appointments and activities. Encouraging independence, confidence and life skills. Supporting children to understand and regulate their emotions. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes. Completing accurate records and following safeguarding procedures. Learning how to respond calmly and safely to challenging situations.

Experience in care is welcome but not essential.

Following the successful completion of your six-month probationary period, you will be enrolled onto the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England), fully funded by Yaffle Care.
