Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our busy and fast growing surgery. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional administrative support and ensuring a smooth operation within the medical practice. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for patients while managing various office tasks efficiently.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring all necessary information is collected accurately.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar for healthcare providers.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Process patient forms and insurance information accurately.
- Assist with billing inquiries and coordinate with insurance companies as needed.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
Experience
- Previous experience in an administrative or office role is preferred, particularly within a medical or healthcare setting.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and staff professionally.
- Proficiency in using office software and electronic health record systems is advantageous.
- A compassionate approach towards patient care and a commitment to maintaining a positive environment.
Hours
This role is for 30 hours per week. This includes at least 1 evening working until 6:30pm. Holiday cover is contractual.
