Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Coffee Shop Manager to join our dynamic team at Ori Caffe within the John Lewis Store Centre MK. Responsibilities
- Assist the Coffee Shop Manager in overseeing daily shop operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Supervise and support team members, including baristas and kitchen staff, fostering a positive working environment
- Manage food preparation and ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times
- Lead by example in serving customers with professionalism and friendliness, enhancing the overall customer experience
- Coordinate with suppliers for stock replenishment and manage inventory levels effectively
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all areas of the shop
- Support in training new staff members and conducting ongoing training sessions for existing team members
- Assist in planning promotional activities and special events to boost sales and customer engagement
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a café or restaurant setting
- Previous supervising or team management experience in hospitality or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food production processes
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Customer-focused approach with outstanding communication skills in British English
- Experience as a barista or in hospitality roles such as serving or hotel work is highly desirable
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, food presentation, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
