About The Job
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated General Assistant to join our Outdoor Services team.
Reporting to our Outdoor Services Manager, this is a varied role where you will be vital to the day to day operation of the garden centre.
Key Duties
· Working with our outdoor services team to assist in stocking the retail area, undertaking plant care & watering duties.
· Assist with inward deliveries, including accepting deliveries and distributing them to the correct department/warehouse.
· Warehouse duties including unpacking deliveries, pricing stock, collecting and distributing stock to relevant departments.
· Ensuring the garden centre maintains a high standard of cleanliness and looks presentable at all times.
· Ground and gardens care and maintenance. The ability to operate and maintain basic machinery (mowers / forklift / mini digger etc) would be a distinct advantage.
· Operating a till (as and when necessary).
· Ability to serve customers in a polite, friendly, and welcoming manner.
· Duties could include anything and everything (within reason) even in other departments.
About You
· Friendly, honest, reliable and flexible
· Must be able to work on your own and as part of a large team
· Ability to work weekends on a rota basis is essential
· Gardening knowledge desirable but not essential
· Excellent customer service skills
· Must be physically fit as lifting and manual work is a large part of this role

· Salary: circa £26,000 (based on a 40hr week average) but negotiable for the right applicant
