Job Summary
Here at The Selwyn Hotel, Richmond, we are seeking a friendly and dedicated Food and Beverage Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and excellent customer service skills. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of our food and beverage services, ensuring guests have a memorable experience. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of dining areas, counters, and service stations
- Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Support baristas with drink preparation when necessary
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Replenish stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Provide excellent customer service by attending to guest needs promptly and courteously
- Support catering events by setting up, serving, and clearing tables as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
- Experience in restaurant or barista roles is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A genuine interest in food, beverages, and delivering exceptional customer service
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and evenings if required
