Job Title: Bank Care Assistant
Job Purpose: To assist in Nursing care under the direct supervision of a
Registered Nurse.
To whom responsible: Manager
Reports to: Registered nurse, Senior Carer or Team Leader.
Level of responsibility: Routine duties as directed by and under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Qualifications: None required at start of employment. Must be of a caring nature, and be sympathetic to the needs of residents. Willing to undertake Induction Training and E Learning
Duties and responsibilities:
● Assist the team to deliver a high standard of holistic care to residents, promoting their privacy and dignity, confidentiality and quality of life at all times.
● Assist with resident hygiene, elimination, mobility, physical comfort, serving of meals, eating and drinking and last office procedure.
● Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to the Registered Nurse or Team
Leader.
● Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.
● Assist in the maintenance of Home cleanliness especially helping keep Residents clothes and other belongings clean and tidy.
● Attend supervisions

Act in a professional manner , and keep up to date with changes in policies and procedures.
Carry out duties with regard to the Homes’ Equal Opportunity policy.
Be aware of own responsibility to maintain health and safety for residents, staff and visitors.
Infection Prevention and Control
As an employee at St Georges you have a responsibility to comply with our procedures for
Health and Safety and to protect the residents in our Home from health care associated infection (HCAI). This includes consistent compliance with the Home’s hand hygiene policy, use of personal protective clothing and safe disposal of waste including sharps. For direct care staff, the ‘naked below the elbow’ approach must always be applied when giving care.
Your knowledge, skills and behaviour in the work place should reflect this and at your annual appraisal your performance will be reviewed and questions asked about the practical application of infection control measures.

St Georges has in place a Safeguarding Policy, including Whistle blowing. It is your duty to protect the health safety and welfare of the residents, and if you have any concerns you must contact your line manager, or alternatively a Home Director.
Please note this is for a 0 hour contract, to support the team with 1:1 care, holiday and sickness cover. There is no sponsorship opportunities with this role.
Pay: £19,141.00-£20,711.00 per year
