Overview
Intamet Limited is a long established International Stainless Steel Stockholder. We are seeking a professional and reliable 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for safely operating our 7.5-tonne & 3.5-Tonne flatbed vehicles to deliver our goods within typically a 100 mile radius of Fareham, albeit a Birmingham run is often weekly. This role is not a multi-drop position, and delivers to business. The varied role is not all driving Monday-Friday and extends to assisting making up of customer orders within a small team, and other tasks.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Deliver products to various locations in a timely and professional manner
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any faults or issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion of deliveries
- Follow planned routes and adapt to any route changes or delays efficiently
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained throughout the day
- Communicate effectively.
Requirements
- Valid Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) driving licence with a clean driving record & CPC.
- Able to demonstrate proven regular experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling
- Full understanding of tachograph rules
- Excellent organisational skills and punctuality
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
- Flexibility to work varied hours as required by delivery schedules
- Physically fit as a degree of manual lifting is required
- Positive attitude and a team player. This role is ideal for motivated person who takes pride in their work, prioritise safety, enjoys working as part of a small team and willing to learn for what is a varied and interesting position.
Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
