Duties
- Safely operate a commercial van to deliver packages, goods, or supplies to various locations within designated routes
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines
- Load and unload items, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure the van remains in optimal condition
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to guarantee safe driving practices at all times
- Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and documentation as required by company policies
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role
- Familiarity with van driving and navigating urban or rural routes efficiently
- Warehouse experience is a plus, especially involving heavy lifting or inventory handling
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting heavy packages safely and efficiently
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for commercial vehicle operation with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and basic vehicle maintenance
