Finance Trainee
Job Purpose & Responsibilities
Browns Food Group is a large family-owned business, with an impressive growth history and a motivated approach to future development. Currently trading with multiple manufacturing sites across Scotland and the North of England, we are established suppliers to the manufacturing, food service and retail markets. We are excited about our strategic growth plan and are looking for a Trainee to support the Finance team on this journey. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Download bank statements every morning
· Detail cash received on Group Cash spreadsheet
· Send snapshot of spreadsheet for the day to credit controllers and credit manager
· Accurately post cash and reconcile to customer’s accounts
· Post any journals arising from cash posting
· Advise the credit controllers/credit manager of any discrepancies/journals raised
· Keep Browns overdue spreadsheet updated
· Distribute Browns overdue spreadsheet as required to relevant parties
· External licence accounts close downs at month end
· Ensuring files/records are kept tidy and up to date
· Running monthly statements
· Review and processing of credit application forms
· Assisting other finance operations as required
· Any other tasks required by the Business
Person Specification
· Good oral and verbal communication skills / good listening skills
· Able to deal with others in a polite and professional way
· Enthusiastic and willing to learn
· Able to ask questions / put their point across confidently
· Able to plan and organize
· Will take responsibility for getting their own work done to the right level and on time
· Good Microsoft Excel and Word Skills
. Good numeracy and literacy skills
Hours
8.00am – 4.00pm Monday - Friday (8:30-4:30pm or 9am – 5pm also considered)
Salary
Dependent on experience / to be discussed at interview.
