Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Ground Worker/Labourer to join our team. This role involves assisting with various site activities, supporting construction and maintenance projects, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in the construction or civil engineering sectors. All roles are paid, including internships, and require a proactive approach to work.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with site preparation, including clearing debris and organising materials
- Digging trenches, holes, and foundations as directed
- Loading and unloading materials using manual handling equipment
- Supporting skilled tradespeople with their tasks as needed
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
- Assisting with the setup of temporary structures or barriers on-site
- Operating basic tools and equipment under supervision
- Reporting any safety hazards or issues to supervisors promptly
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, or similar manual roles is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions carefully
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not mandatory
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
