About the Role
Universal Display is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Trainee Sign Maker to join our team in Worcester.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to build a career within the signage, graphics and display industry. No previous sign-making experience is required, as full training will be provided.
Working alongside our experienced team, you will learn the different stages of sign production, from preparing materials and applying graphics through to finishing, packing and installation.
The role is varied and will involve both workshop-based production and working on customer sites, so a practical attitude, willingness to learn and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
As your skills develop, you will be trained in and involved with:
- Preparing, measuring and cutting a variety of sign-making materials.
- Applying vinyl graphics, lettering and other self-adhesive products.
- Weeding and transferring vinyl accurately.
- Working with materials including Foamex, Dibond, acrylic and other substrates.
- Assisting with the manufacture, assembly and finishing of signage.
- Learning to safely use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Assisting with printers, vinyl cutters and laminating equipment.
- Preparing finished signs and graphics for delivery or installation.
- Supporting experienced sign makers and installers on customer sites.
- Loading, unloading and handling signage and materials.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Following company procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Working at heights
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable and keen to learn a skilled trade.
You don't need previous experience in sign making. We are more interested in your attitude, reliability and willingness to develop your skills.

Essential Requirement
A full UK driving licence is essential for this position.
The role involves travelling to customer sites and assisting with the transportation and installation of signage, so applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be confident driving as part of their working day.
Previous Experience
Previous experience in sign making, printing, graphics, manufacturing, joinery, decorating, vehicle graphics or another practical trade would be beneficial but is not essential.
Full training will be provided to the right person.
What matters most is a genuine interest in learning the trade, a good work ethic and the willingness to develop into a skilled sign maker.
