Apprenticeship Qualification
You will complete a nationally recognised Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, leading to registration with the GPhC as a qualified Pharmacy Technician.
The apprenticeship combines practical workplace experience with structured learning and training, allowing you to develop the knowledge and skills required to become a registered healthcare professional.
Hours
- Permanent position
- 30–40 hours per week
- Monday to Saturday with a day off (including protected study time)

Your Responsibilities
Working under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist, your duties will include:
- Dispensing and labelling prescriptions safely and accurately
- Preparing prescriptions for pharmacist accuracy checks
- Supporting pharmacists with the delivery of NHS and private pharmacy services
- Receiving prescriptions and communicating professionally with patients
- Assisting patients with routine enquiries and referring clinical queries appropriately
- Selling over-the-counter (OTC) medicines using the 2WHAM protocol
- Assisting with care home dispensing services
- Processing prescriptions using pharmacy computer systems
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Ordering, unpacking and managing pharmaceutical stock
- Stock rotation and checking expiry dates
- Removing expired or damaged medicines
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe dispensary
- Supporting administration and business operations
- Working in accordance with pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Reporting medication incidents where required
- Delivering outstanding customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
As your training progresses, you will gain experience across all aspects of community pharmacy and become an essential member of the pharmacy team.

Essential Requirements
- GCSE English, Maths and Science at Grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent)
- Right to work in the UK
- UK resident for at least 3 years (apprenticeship funding requirement)
- Able to reliably commute to the pharmacy
- Willingness to complete coursework and meet apprenticeship deadlines
- Enhanced DBS check (required before employment)
