About Nairn Construction
Nairn Construction Ltd is a family-run construction company based in Lockerbie, heading into its biggest year yet as the business continues to grow. We're looking for an experienced and organised Yard Supervisor / Delivery Driver to take ownership of how our yard and deliveries run day to day.
This role is based at our yard and sits at the centre of daily operations. You'll be trusted with real responsibility, and your input into how things run will be genuinely valued as we grow. Two days a week, you'll also plan and direct the workload of a second driver, so strong time management and the ability to prioritise under pressure are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect materials, tools and plant from suppliers and sites
- Carry out daily vehicle and trailer inspections
- Load and unload materials safely
- Keep the yard clean, safe and organised
- Manage stock, plant and equipment registers
- Book vehicle servicing, MOTs and equipment inspections
- Maintain asset records and stock control systems
- Plan and prioritise your own workload and a second driver's, two days a week
- Support Health & Safety compliance
- Help with compliance documentation and operational records
- Work closely with site and office teams, with input into wider operational decisions
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Must be 25 or over (vehicle insurance requirement)
- Strong experience in driving, logistics, yard or operations management
- Excellent time management and task prioritisation
- Confidence taking ownership and making decisions
- Starting bracket £35,000–£40,000 depending on experience
- Reliable, with good attention to detail
Desirable
- CSCS Card
- Construction industry experience
- Experience with stock management systems or Microsoft Excel
