Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cafe Manager to oversee daily operations within our vibrant café environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food and hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food safety standards. They will also bring lots of fun and energy and be passionate about their work with a want to be creative with planning events and coming up with ideas on how to keep the cafe new and exciting. This role involves managing staff and rotas, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high-quality food production and presentation, as well as ordering stock and controlling waste. The successful applicant will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to health regulations. The candidate will also have a high level of Barista skills.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the café team, including baristas, kitchen staff, and serving personnel
- Oversee food production, ensuring all dishes are prepared to high standards of quality and presentation
- Manage food preparation processes, including cooking, plating, and ensuring consistency across menu items
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the establishment
- Lead staff training programmes, including onboarding new team members and ongoing development initiatives
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to prevent shortages or wastage
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest queries and resolving any issues promptly
- Organise staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours
- Maintain a welcoming environment that promotes hospitality and customer satisfaction
- Plan fun events and supper club themes to keep the cafe exciting
- Creative ideas of new food or drink items on the menu
Skills
- Energetic with a passion for their job and a genuine care for the people they are serving and managing.
- Strong management skills with previous supervising experience in hospitality or culinary environments
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen management
- Experience in restaurant management or hospitality management roles is highly desirable
- Barista experience is essential; a passion for coffee culture is appreciated
- Organisation skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Exceptional communication skills with a friendly approach to customer service
- Using own initiative to solve problems and ensure the cafe is running efficiently
