Server & Receptionist – Full-Time

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and flexible Server & Receptionist to join our team at Star Hotel Kingussie.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with guests and wants a full-time role with variety. You will work across both hotel reception and food & beverage, giving you the chance to develop your hospitality skills across different areas of the hotel.
The Role
You will work across reception and our restaurant/bar depending on the needs of the business.
Reception shifts
- 07:00–15:00 or 15:00–23:00
- Checking guests in and out
- Answering guest enquiries by phone, email and in person
- Taking reservations and assisting with bookings
- Dealing with guest requests and ensuring excellent customer service
- Upselling rooms, food, drinks and hotel services where appropriate
- Working independently and confidently during your shift
Server / Waitress shifts
You may also work across our food & beverage operation, including:
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts
- Serving food and drinks to hotel residents and local guests
- Taking orders and providing friendly, professional service
- Setting up and clearing tables
- Handling payments
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Helping to ensure every guest has a great experience
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, welcoming and confident with guests
- Reliable, hardworking and flexible
- Comfortable switching between different areas of the hotel
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Organised and able to multitask
- Confident with customer service and sales
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends and holidays
- Previous hotel, restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but we are happy to consider the right person with a great attitude
Most importantly, you should enjoy working with people and take pride in providing excellent service.
