Are you passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness to make positive and lasting changes in their lives? The Salvation Army’s Booth Centre in Southampton is looking for a motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Homelessness Services team.
The Booth Centre is a residential Lifehouse that accommodates up to 46 adults who are experiencing homelessness. In this role, you will provide person-centred, trauma-sensitive support that promotes choice, control and independence. Working as part of a committed team, you will help clients identify their goals, access appropriate support, build positive relationships and move towards more sustainable lifestyles.
About the role
You will develop and review individual support plans, complete assessments and risk assessments, facilitate client meetings and participation, and work with colleagues to deliver in-house support services. You will also help clients access external support where needed, maintain accurate records using The Salvation Army’s client management system, and ensure your practice reflects relevant legislation, policies and safeguarding requirements.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Understanding of homelessness, vulnerability and complex support needs.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Good IT skills and accurate record keeping.

Ability to complete assessments, support plans and case notes.

Confidence managing a varied workload in a busy service.
