Band 7 Ward Manager – 11 South Neurosurgery Ward Charing Cross Hospital
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Band 7 Ward Manager to lead 11 South, our busy specialist Neurosurgery Ward. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse service caring for both elective and acute neurosurgical patients, delivering high-quality care within one of the UK's leading neuroscience centres.
As Ward Manager, you will provide visible clinical and operational leadership to a skilled multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care. The ward manages a wide range of neurosurgical conditions, including cranial and spinal surgery pathways, emergency admissions and complex specialist care.
Provide overall leadership, management and professional support to the nursing workforce on 11 SouthEnsure delivery of high standards of patient safety, quality and experience across elective and acute neurosurgical pathways
Lead on workforce planning, recruitment, staff development and performance management
Manage patient flow, bed capacity and operational demands in collaboration with the wider neuroscience team
Promote evidence-based practice and drive service improvement, audit and quality initiatives
Foster effective multidisciplinary working with neurosurgeons, therapists, specialist nurses and operational teams
Support the development of junior staff and create a positive learning environment
Maintain compliance with Trust policies, governance requirements and national quality standards
Act as a role model, demonstrating compassionate leadership and a commitment to excellence in neurosurgical care.
