Summary
'We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator to join our team in Rotherham. Based at our facility, this role is crucial in ensuring the precision and quality of our furniture components, contributing directly to our company's commitment to innovative and flexible office furniture solutions.'
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Produce CNC programs for wood-based panel products using software including WoodWOP, AlphaCAM and SWOOD.
- Convert customer drawings, CAD files and production information into accurate machining programs for manufacture.
- Ensure all programming is completed accurately and released to production within agreed timescales.
- Liaise with customers, designers, estimators and production teams to clarify specifications and resolve technical queries.
- Optimise machining programs to maximise productivity, minimise waste and improve machine efficiency.
- Support first-off production trials and resolve any programming or machining issues.
- Maintain programming standards, tooling libraries and manufacturing documentation.
- Ensure all product data, revisions and engineering changes are correctly controlled.
- Work closely with machine operators and production supervisors to continually improve manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, cost reduction and throughput.
- Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing methods.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality procedures at all times.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience programming CNC woodworking machinery within the furniture, joinery or wood-based panel industry.
- Strong working knowledge of WoodWOP, AlphaCAM and/or SWOOD.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD models and customer specifications.
- Good understanding of wood-based manufacturing processes, machining techniques and tooling.
- Experience of nesting, optimisation and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing error-free work.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems.
Desirable:
- Experience with Homag CNC machinery or similar equipment.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Experience within the contract furniture or commercial interiors sector.
