Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Household Groundsperson to maintain and enhance the outdoor spaces of a private property. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in landscape maintenance, horticulture, and general groundskeeping. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, applying mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to ensure the grounds are safe, attractive, and well-maintained. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with experience in gardening, construction, or maintenance work who take pride in their craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to uphold the aesthetic appeal of the grounds.
- Operate various power tools such as trimmers, lawnmowers, and hedge cutters safely and efficiently.
- Utilise hand tools for planting, digging, and general groundskeeping tasks.
- Assist with outdoor & construction-related tasks including minor repairs or installations around the grounds.
Qualifications
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is advantageous.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in groundskeeping and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of horticultural practices and plant care techniques.
- Ability to operate machinery safely and effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail in maintaining outdoor environments.
- Able to operate independently, in all weathers
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting, digging, and operating machinery over extended periods.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in landscaping, horticulture, or machinery operation are desirable but not essential.
