We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Metallic Tool Stores Controller to support our high-performance Metallic Machining Department. Working in a fast-paced, precision manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for maintaining the availability and performance of tooling and consumables while driving continuous improvement and cost-effective solutions. Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the machine shop tool stores, ensuring all tooling, consumables, and assemblies are organised, controlled, and readily accessible.
- Maintain accurate stock levels of new, used, and regrind tooling to prevent production shortages.
- Source alternative tooling solutions and work with suppliers to achieve the best value and performance.
- Coordinate tooling regrinds and replacements while monitoring cost savings.
- Support machinists with tooling requirements and technical problem-solving.
- Collaborate with Production Engineering and CAM Programming to improve tool life and machining performance.
- Raise purchase requisitions and maintain accurate tooling expenditure records.
- Assemble and disassemble tooling in line with setup documentation.
- Ensure tooling is production-ready, organised, and compliant with quality and health & safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support departmental objectives.

Experience within Formula One, motorsport, aerospace, or other high-precision manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, machining technologies, tool wear, and tooling optimisation.
- Experience assessing and managing tooling regrinds.
- Competence in tooling assembly and the use of precision measuring equipment.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Good IT, numerical, and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to changing production priorities.
- A strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and Health & Safety.
