Overview
Location: Daresbury, Cheshire
Hours: 15–20 hours per week, worked flexibly over 3–5 days
Pay: £15.00 per hour
We are seeking a reliable and experienced part-time gardener to maintain the gardens and outside areas of a children’s home in Daresbury.
Main Responsibilities
- Mowing lawns, strimming and maintaining borders.
- Weeding, pruning, planting and general garden care.
- Leaf clearance and keeping paths and outside areas clean and tidy.
- Maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming outdoor environment.
- Carrying out minor garden and grounds repairs where appropriate.
- Reporting any hazards, damage or maintenance concerns to the Home Manager.
- Using gardening tools, machinery and chemicals safely and responsibly.
- Maintaining pond area
- Any other duties as required across the home.
Person Specification
The successful applicant will be dependable, able to work independently and have previous gardening or grounds-maintenance experience. A basic understanding of health and safety when using garden machinery and chemicals is essential. As the work will take place at a children’s home, the applicant must behave professionally, respect the privacy of the children and comply with the home’s safeguarding procedures. Employment will be subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check at the appropriate level.
A driving licence and access to transport would be desirable.
Pay: £15.00 per hour
