Job Overview
Working from 4 pm to 7 pm Monday to Friday we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Operative to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the college. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas, including offices, classrooms, corridors, and communal spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Ensure all surfaces are sanitized and free of dust, dirt, and debris to uphold hygiene standards
- Restock cleaning supplies, toiletries, and consumables as needed to maintain operational efficiency
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards immediately to management for prompt resolution
- Adhere to scheduled cleaning routines while maintaining flexibility to address urgent cleaning requirements
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and safety standards is an advantage but not essential
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and steam cleaners effectively
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality cleanliness standards
- Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within allocated timeframes
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting issues clearly
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Knowledge of health regulations related to hygiene practices in commercial environments
